Mount Ararat Turned White (Date : 08 October 2023)
Mount Ararat, which is the highest point in Turkey with an altitude of 5,137 meters and is known as the ‘roof of Turkey,’ turned white after the effective snowfall.
While the glaciers covering the summit of Mount Ağrı, Turkey’s highest point, have been shrinking due to global warming, the mountain’s summit and foothills turned white again after last week’s snowfall.
The snow-covered Mount Ağrı provided a visual spectacle for many in Iğdır and other places.
