5,137 meters high and located in the district of Doğubayazıt, Mount Ararat, Turkey’s highest peak, received its first snow of the season. Mount Ararat, which is also Europe’s highest mountain and holds the distinction of being a dormant volcanic mountain, turned white from the early hours of the morning. Climbers from both Turkey and abroad who attempted to ascend the summit experienced challenging moments due to the snowfall.
Fog and storms did not hinder the ascent; Mount Ararat’s summit welcomed the climbers. Russian and British climbers reached the summit under fog and snow despite the harsh weather conditions.
